Going on a short getaway to delightful Portuguese islands, 1600+ kilometres from the European coast, for a price of just a few dinners? Well, thats exactly what is possible to do when you are in Lisbon!
Why to go? Imagine volcanic islands with green hilly landscape, cows everywhere, lakes, thermal springs… And the ocean all around. Still almost totally untouched by bothersome impacts of mass tourism, yet safe and full of breathtaking places to discover. Travelling to the Azores islands is definitely one of the best trips you can take from Lisbon.
How much? Less than 50 Euros. Thats what you usually pay for a return flight to this far-away, amazingly peaceful place. And don’t worry – even the accomodation and car rental won’t be expensive (for more info on that, scroll down and follow the hints!).
More details, please! Okay, I guess you have a lot of questions now, right? How to get there so cheap? How long to stay? How many islands are there? What are the best spots to visit? Is renting a car neccessary? Should I take a sunscreen?
